Disorders caused from lipoprotein metabolism, deficiency or overproduction are called Dyslipidemias and these are displayed as elevated plasma levels of LDL cholesterol, triglyceride and total cholesterol concentrations and a decreased levels of HDL cholesterol concentration. Presence of small and dense LDL particles, increased triglycerides level and lower level of HDL are found in people having people having diabetes, CHD and metabolic syndrome. Clinical researches and studies link high LDL levels with atherosclerosis and CVD. Cigarette smoking, stress, diabetes and low HDL are said to be the risk enhancing factors. People who are on the higher risk side for heart diseases should take some medications unless otherwise disciplined lifestyle and healthy diet can help prevent CHD.
